Some lives...

"Shake Dog Shake" par The Cure, extrait de l’album "Concert: The Cure live" enregistré en  1984 pour ouvrir ce nouveau chapitre d’Amnesia, chapitre n°35 qui m’a été l’occasion, calendrier et fête de la musique oblige de concocter une playlist constituée d’enregistrements lives de groupes que nous avons croisés souvent à plusieurs reprises lors de cette première saison d’Amnesia. Peu de blahblah donc ce soir, mais une sorte de contrepoint de l’année écoulée, entre rappels et perspectives à venir

L’émission étant consacrée pour l’essentiel au mouvement postpunk, voici donc un premier bloc de titres renvoyant à ce genre musical que je me plais à définir à partir du terme de tension. La vérité d’un groupe se façonne sur scène...

"Shake Dog Shake" by The Cure, from the album "Concert: The Cure Live" -recorded in 1984-  to open this new chapter of Amnesia, Chapter n°34 34, which was the opportunity, according both to the calendar and the French music day, to run a playlist consisting on lives recordings of bands we met several times during the first season of Amnesia.

Then, few claptrap -this time- but a kind of counterpoint to the previous year, between reminders and future prospects.

The show is devoted mainly to the post-punk movement, so we will start with a first block of titles referring to the genre that I like to define by the term of tension. 

A group truly shapes on stage . So....

« Suicide », par Bunker Strasse pour ouvrir ce nouveau chapitre d’Amnesia, chapitre n°34 consacré, comme annoncé lors de la dernière émission par un titre des After Track, au site Nordwaves (cf liens)

Nordwaves est un projet d'archives des musiques alternatives du nord de la France: new wave, post-punk, gothique, punk et -bien sûr- coldwave. La playlist de l’émission fera d’ailleurs la part belle à ce dernier courant musical. Il y avait en effet bien longtemps (le chapitre 2 de l’émission en fait -Amnesia - T1 - Chap.2 …) que je ne m’étais pas aventuré du côté le plus sombre des musiques sombres, et c'est donc un plaisir pour moi que de me retrouver errer à nouveau dans la discographie de groupes comme Odessa, Frakture, Guerre Froide ou, donc,  Bunker Strasse.

"Suicide" by Bunker Strasse to open this new chapter of Amnesia, Chapter No. 34 devoted, as announced in the last show by with a song by After Track, to the website Nordwaves (see links).

Nordwaves is an archive project of alternative music in the north of France: new wave, post-punk, gothic, punk and -of course-coldwave. The playlist of the show will also put the emphasis on this last  musical movement. It has been a long time (The Chapter 2 of the show, indeed... Amnesia - T1 - Chap.2) that I had not ventured in the darker side of dark music, so it is a pleasure for me to find myself wandering back into the discography of bands like Odessa, Frakture, Cold War or, therefore, Bunker Strasse.

Vous suivez bien Amnesia, pour un petit voyage d’une heure à travers l’espace et le temps.  La programmation de ce chapitre va en effet nous permettre de dépasser quelque peu les frontières des contrées que nous avons l’habitude de visiter dans le cadre de cette  émission - modeste et géniale- à savoir l’Angleterre, les Etats-Unis, la France, la Belgique ou l’Allemagne. Car d’autres pays de par le monde ont été touchés par la nécessité  d’exprimer autrement un malaise existentiel, un colère rentrée, une émotion trop forte pour la garder en soi… tout ce qui fait partie du charme de la musique que nous partageons ensemble.

You are on Amnesia for a one-hour journey through space and time. This new chapter's playlist is about to somehow take us beyond the boundaries of the countries we are used to visiting in this show, namely England, the United States, France or Germany.
